If you’re ever visiting Ghent, you should definitely go to following places:

Café René

First we went to “Café René” for some lunch and a hot drink.
I ordered the soup of the day, which was carrotsoup. It was tasty, but not the best soup I’ve ever tasted.
My best friend ordered some tea, you had to serve it yourself but to be honest, it was not as convenient to pour out as there was no lid on the teapot.
After my soup, I ordered the Vanilla Latté which was really delicious.

The place itself was nice, the service was quick and the waiters were friendly.

Peaberry Coffeebar

After visiting the Christmas market, we went for another hot drink.
This time we went to “Peaberry Coffeebar” for a delicious Matcha and Chai Latté.

The service was warm and we felt welcome from the moment we walked in. This place is great when you want to enjoy your coffee in a tranquil setting.

My rating: 9/10.

Le Botaniste

For dinner we went to “Le Botaniste”.
My best friend is a vegan so we were looking for a delicious place where they serve plant-based food. This place is a great place for vegans, but also for not vegans.
The food is made from fair and organic vegetables and they have their own wine bar.

The environment of this place is really nice and the service was super friendly. The food itself was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long for it to be served.

Christmas market

Currently there is a Winterhappening in Ghent from December 9th until January 8th. There is a Christmas market with 140 christmas chalets where you can eat and drink international delicacies, you can also buy clothes or christmas clothes. There is a ferris wheel, an idyllic ice-skating ring and there are also live shows and entertainment for all the family.
The magic of Christmas starts once it gets dark outside.

Where can you find the Chirstmas market?
It starts at the Sint-Baafs cathedral, on the Botermarkt, Gouden Leeuwplein, Klein Turkije, right up to the end of the Korenmarkt.

Langemunt is Ghent’s central shopping street.
Here you’ll find all the main retail chains.

I had a great day in the beautiful city Ghent. It is a city with many historical buildings and beautiful sights. When night falls, the city comes to life.
